Okay, I lost track of time. I have to admit that I haven't even looked at my blog since last August when I promised myself that I would photograph and post my handmade books to my site, but I failed miserably. Blame it on no one but myself. I did manage to make a few handmade books and some collages but my creativity has taken the back burner in a major way for awhile now. This year, I hope to spend a little more time blogging and a little less time doing mundane computer activities. In August, I started a series of collages called "Altered Beings". This was a great idea to me and then it turned out that I ended up making only a set of 4 for a group book arts project. I have books to photograph-yes I do. Also, I was published in the Somerset Studio Gallery 2010 Winter Edition for another collaboration that I participated in. I am also trying to document at least a few photographs weekly of my life. Just random, fun photos. The trades have slowed way down as I begin to focus my energy on book arts. This has become a major passion of mine and I am slowly giving up other interests in pursuit of this. There are so many wonderful miniature works of art and creative ideas that I would like to house in these small books. I will continue with collage and hope to also incorporate some visual journaling in my books.
I also started a set of Soul Collage Cards inspired by the book by "Seena Frost". This is an on-going project that I contribute a few cards to when I don't have anything better to do.
Isn't "That Girl" the perfect party girl? Speaking of parties, the Holidays were great. I enjoyed friends from afar and neighbors as well. I have to admit that I am just plain sick of eating out now. But it was a very fun Holiday and I especially enjoyed quality time with my husband and some very special ladies named Kate, Ro, and Sandra. I still want to get together with a few other great friends and will as soon as time permits. Another landmark is that I entered another decade of my life as a new decade came into existence so did my New Year's Eve birthday. I sulked for days over THE NUMBER, but when the day came, I was ready for a good time and my husband made it a wonderful day of celebration. No big party, just a sweet, intimate day with the two of us spending quality time together.
I would post photos but when I use the "Browse and upload" they upload sideways, so for now I will skip this nonsensical activity in lieu of saving time. I surely don't have time to look up more computer know hows. Happy New Year! Maybe this is time to resolve that I will try harder to work on this blog this year and stay the off some of the social networks, if you know what I mean.
