I feel like a heel not blogging for such a long time. I have so much to catch up on, but I just wanted to say to those of you who have looked at my blog that some changes are lurking around the corner. Here's whats been going on since my last post. I have been in a book arts class since August, which is only one day a week, but consumes many hours of preparation. You know, hunting down the supplies, putting them together, getting a project ready for lesson, and so forth. Some of the projects have involved a tedious amount of time. Now, I am not complaining as book arts is a fascinating medium to work with. It involves both technical and artistic skills and a great imagination. I have to say that I really love it and I have loved interacting with the women who are in my class. My teacher, Marilyn is a fabulous teacher and has so much to share with her students. I might add that she is also very generous with her time and own supplies. I know you aren't teaching for the money, Marilyn. It is nice to have that thread that ties you to a circle of women that feel so familiar even though some I had never met before. It has also been a wonderful way to pull me out of the isolation that artists like myself often feel. I also had a show at the Fuller Lodge Art Gallery and was chosen as the "Viewer's Choice Award". That was really nice, but the greatest part of it all is that I met some really wonderful people and was invited by Sue Ellen Hains to join the Collage Group here in town. I didn't even know there was one and here I have been living in this town for 6+ years now. I have also been dealing with health issues. Mine and my husband. In 4 weeks, when school is out, I will be staying in for the Winter. I don't tolerate the cold well at all. Then, I will find time to photograph and upload my work and make a point to blog more often. In the meantime, keep on creating. And, most of all spread the love in your heart. Maggie
